Weddings & Civil Partnerships Somerset & Wiltshire

A wedding or civil partnership taken by an Interfaith Minister will express the beliefs and aspirations of the couple getting married. It can be held more or less anywhere and there are no restrictions on the readings, sharings, poems, prayers, songs, music or other elements which form the content of the ceremony.

Many people choose to follow a traditional format which includes, for example, the taking of vows, the exchange of rings and a formal blessing by the minister. However they always have the freedom to create a ceremony which is unique to them and the occasion.

In England and Wales, Interfaith Ministers cannot provide the legal aspect of marriage and civil partnerships. Couple must use the services of a Registrar at some point before or after the wedding ceremony itself.

Some couples do not want a wedding but prefer a more simple ceremony like a handfasting or renewal of vows.

My fee for a ‘typical’ wedding or civil partnership is £395. This excludes any travel or overnight accomodation expenses. But I am always open to negotiation around fees when there is a genuine difficulty in meeting then or a desire for a ‘cheap wedding’ in line with the couple’s available budget.

I would expect to work with the couple as part of their wedding planning and wedding ideas to ensure that the ceremony has integrity and fully meets their hearts’ desires.

Although I am based in Frome, near the Somerset and Wiltshire border, within easy reach of the following towns (Bath, Bruton, Castle Cary, Frome, Gillingham, Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Shepton Mallet, Trowbridge, Warminster, Westbury and Wincanton), I am willing to travel further afield to take wedding and civil partnership ceremonies.
